He is an artist and cartoonist with a 20-year career. He holds a Master's degree in Art History (University of Antioquia, 2011) and a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (National University of Colombia, 2006), as well as a Diploma in Art Criticism (University of Antioquia, 2013). He has been an art professor in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Antioquia for approximately 16 years.
- As an international cartoonist, he is one of the most prominent cartoonists in Latin America. He has won nearly 70 international awards in numerous countries, including Portugal, China, Italy, Iran, Romania, Macedonia, the Czech Republic, Syria, Korea, Egypt, Kosovo, Canada, Cuba, the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, and Turkey, among others. His most notable achievements include the World Press Cartoon Portugal 2013. He was invited to the Latin American Cartoonists exhibition at the Theeran Museum of Contemporary Art in Iran in 2023. His solo cartoon exhibitions have included those at the Museum of Caricature in Mexico in 2014, the Museum of the Institute of Culture of Antioquia in Colombia in 2023, the Piracicaba Museum in Brazil in 2017, and the Roberto Fontanarrosa Cultural Center in Argentina in 2015.
He has served as an international juror. His work has been selected for numerous cartoon competitions and published in numerous catalogs. Highlights include the publication of "100 Best Cartoonists in the World Iran 2023". Guest at the Guadalajara International Book Fair, Mexico, 2017 and 2019. Conferences, workshops, and publication of academic articles on cartooning.
As a national cartoonist in Colombia, he currently publishes in El Espectador (Colombia's leading newspaper). He is the winner of the 2025 Inter-American Press Association (IAPA) Excellence in Journalism Award in the United States (as the best cartoonist in the Americas in 2025). He also won the 2024 Simón Bolívar National Journalism Award (as the best cartoonist in Colombia in 2024) and the 2022 Journalists' Circle National Journalism Award in Bogotá, Colombia.
He has participated in numerous cartooning events in Colombia, and his work has been published in catalogs, books, and magazines. He has received numerous tributes, won creative grants, and served as a juror, among other roles.
As an artist, he uses the humor of caricature combined with painting to create ironic versions of art history. He is currently represented by LA-galeria Bogotá, Galería el coleccionista, and Carlos Orozco Galería, Colombia. He has held numerous solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally, most notably “Ironic Atlas in 2025.” He has also participated in numerous group art exhibitions in national and international galleries and museums. He has been featured in major international art fairs such as Artbo Colombia 2025. His work is held in private collections both nationally and internationally. He has conducted art history research and published academic articles. He has worked as a curator, professor, and consultant on contemporary art.
