1. LOOKING BACK AT THE FORMER SYRIAN CARTOON WEBSITE AND ITS 21-YEAR JOURNEY, HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THIS PLATFORM AND ITS CONTRIBUTION TO YOUR ARTISTIC ACTIVITY?

Mihai Gabriel Boboc: The platform has constantly evolved and provided real-time information about events and exhibitions.

2. HOW DO YOU EVALUATE THE ROLE OF RAED KHALIL, THE DIRECTOR AND ARTIST OF THE WEBSITE, IN DEVELOPING THE PLATFORM, CONNECTING ARTISTS, AND PROMOTING AN INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY OF CARTOONISTS?

Mihai Gabriel Boboc: An artist totally immersed in the phenomenon, completely passionate, a harsh critic of injustices, the arrangements, and the reciprocity of certain juries, unfortunately frequent and repeated, in some international competitions.

I regret that we no longer have the TV show conceived and produced by Raed on the National Television Station of Syria, it was something unique in the media landscape.


3. BASED ON YOUR EXPERIENCE, HOW WOULD YOU EVALUATE THE PROFESSIONALISM OF THE WEBSITE IN TERMS OF COMMUNICATION, COLLABORATION, AND RELATIONS WITH ARTISTS?

Mihai Gabriel Boboc: Personally, I have a very good relationship with this site, I collaborate with them and, wherever I have information, at least about competitions held in Romania, I share it for distribution.




4. WHAT ASPECTS OF THE FORMER WEBSITE DO YOU CONSIDER VALUABLE AND WORTH KEEPING?

Mihai Gabriel Boboc: The section for analysis and critique of caricature contests; The TV segment about caricature on the Syrian National Television channel.

What aspects, if any, do you consider could have been improved?
Mihai Gabriel Boboc: I don't have.

5. WHAT COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS, OR CONSTRUCTIVE RECOMMENDATIONS WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE REGARDING THE NEW SYRIACARTOON SITE AND ITS FUTURE DEVELOPMENT?

Mihai Gabriel Boboc: Here, the discussion needs to concern the whole community, not just Raed and his website. Each of us can contribute with information, data, relevant points, photos from exhibitions (not just selfies and pictures with drinks and food on plates!).

We are all interested in the competition we are participating in!

Those of us who are part of the event's organizing committee should have a few basic requirements of common sense:

• Confirmation of receipt of submissions;
• Publication of the jury members;
• Full publication of the participant list;
• Live details about the event itself, including photos of how the works are displayed (this can also be done by those who are just invited to the event or as winners);
• Sending the prize to the winner within 1-2 months after the competition ends.

There’s a lot more to say but Raed surely knows them better than I do!

1. بالنظر إلى الماضي ومسيرة موقع "سيريا كارتون" السابق الممتدة لـ 21 عاماً، كيف تصف تجربتك مع هذه المنصة ومساهمتها في نشاطك الفني؟
لقد تطورت المنصة بشكل دائم، وكانت تقدم معلومات في الوقت الفعلي (مباشرة) عن الفعاليات والمعارض.

2. كيف تقيم دور رائد خليل، مدير وفنان الموقع، في تطوير المنصة، والربط بين الفنانين، وتعزيز مجتمع دولي لرسامي الكاريكاتير؟
إنه فنان منخرط بالكامل في هذا المجال، وشغوف به للغاية. وهو ناقد لاذع للمظالم، والتلاعبات، والمعاملات بالمثل (المجاملات) التي تحدث من قِبل بعض لجان التحكيم، والتي للأسف تتكرر كثيراً في بعض المسابقات الدولية.
كما أنني أشعر بالأسف لأننا لم نعد نرى البرنامج التلفزيوني الذي كان يعده ويقدمه رائد على شاشة التلفزيون الحكومي السوري، فقد كان شيئاً فريداً من نوعه في المشهد الإعلامي.

3. بناءً على خبرتك، كيف تقيم مهنية الموقع فيما يتعلق بالتواصل، والتعاون، والعلاقات مع الفنانين؟
شخصياً، تربطني علاقة جيدة جداً بهذا الموقع، وهناك تعاون مستمر بيننا؛ فحينما تتوفر لدي معلومات -على الأقل فيما يخص المسابقات التي تُقام في رومانيا- أقوم بإرسالها وتزويدهم بها من أجل نشرها وتوزيعها.

4. ما هي الجوانب التي تراها قيمة وتستحق الحفاظ عليها في الموقع السابق؟

• قسم التحليل والنقد الخاص بمسابقات الكاريكاتير.
• الفقرة التلفزيونية الخاصة بالكاريكاتير التي كانت تُعرض على شاشة التلفزيون الحكومي السوري.

5. ما هي التعليقات، الاقتراحات، أو التوصيات البناءة التي تود مشاركتها فيما يتعلق بموقع "سيريا كارتون" الجديد وتطويره في المستقبل؟
هنا، يجب أن يشمل النقاش المجتمع الفني بأكمله، وليس رائد وموقعه فقط. يمكن لكل واحد منا المساهمة بتقديم المعلومات، والبيانات، والجوانب ذات الصلة، بالإضافة إلى صور من المعارض (وليس مجرد صور سيلفي وصور لكؤوس الشراب وأطباق الطعام!).
كلنا مهتمون بالمسابقات التي نرسل إليها أعمالنا!
لذا، يجب على من يمثلون اللجان المنظمة لتلك الفعاليات أن يلتزموا ببعض المتطلبات الأساسية التي تمليها القواعد العامة والمنطق:

• تأكيد استلام الأعمال المرسلة.
• إعلان أسماء وتشكيلة لجنة التحكيم للعلن.
• نشر القائمة الكاملة بأسماء المشاركين.
• تقديم تفاصيل حية ومباشرة عن الحدث نفسه، بما في ذلك صور لطريقة تعليق وعرض الأعمال (وهذا أمر يمكن أن يفعله أيضاً من يحضرون كضيوف بسيطين أو كفائزين).
• إرسال الجوائز إلى الفائزين في غضون شهر إلى شهرين كحد أقصى من تاريخ انتهاء المسابقة.

هناك الكثير مما يمكن قوله، ولكن المؤكد أن "رائد" يعرف هذه الأمور أفضل مني!
