The Focșani Printmaking Salon will soon mark half a century of cultural presence in the City of the Union. Established back when Manea Mănescu was taking turns at the helm of the Government with Ilie Verdeț, the event has continued right up to the time of Prime Minister Bolojan, who doesn’t know to whom to hand over the ‘red button’. Almost 30 governments have been depicted by the graphic artists, and this year’s theme is once again linked to… ‘Politics in the Land of Bacchus’. We invite you, dear people of Vrancea, to attend the opening of this year’s exhibition, which brings together, beneath the dome of the former Palace of Justice – now the headquarters of the Vrancea Museum – the works of more than twenty graphic artists. To whet your appetite, we will be showcasing a few of these works throughout the day. And don’t forget, this is an artistic event, which we ask you to view with a touch of irony; it bears no relation to the realities we are currently experiencing. Quite simply, it’s all a coincidence.
The exhibition will be open to visitors until 18 October, from 10.00 to 18.00.
