Muayed Neama (1951 - 2005)
The late artist Muayed Neama is a pioneering figure in the history of Iraqi and Arab caricature, where his brush was characterized by a unique ability for strict visual minimalism and the creation of shocking ideas. He engaged in brave intellectual confrontations against dictatorship and taboos, embodying the concerns of the simple street with rough lines that express absurdity and boldness. He remained committed to the distinctiveness of his brush as an independent platform for expression and provocation, leaving behind a creative legacy resilient against breakage or erasure.
