About the Former Syrian Cartoon Website
 
1. Looking back on the former Syrian Cartoon website and its 21-year journey, how would you describe your experience with the platform and its contribution to your work as an artist?
- The former Syrian Cartoon website was a key resource for me since 2008, and it was
through it that I began to learn about cartooning, including competitions, exhibitions, and
artists in general.

2. What is your assessment of the role of Raed Khalil, the website’s director and artist, in
developing the platform, connecting artists, and fostering an international cartoon
community?
- Raed Khalil is a highly professional artist of great artistic value. As an Egyptian cartoonist, I
am aware of his influence and pioneering role in the Arab region. He has firmly established
us, as Arab artists, on the path to international cartooning, a path we were largely ignorant of
for the past three decades.

3. Based on your experience, how would you evaluate the website’s professionalism in its communication, collaboration, and dealings with artists?
- I give it a perfect score based on my experience. I know a lot about its assistance to many artists and competitions, where it provided media and artistic support free of charge and with utmost dedication.

4. What aspects of the former website do you consider valuable and worth preserving?
- Keeping up with events remarkably quickly; most of the time, the Syrian Cartoon
website was the first to publish news and art coverage.

5.What aspects, if any, do you think could have been improved?
- Maintaining a website archive. I'm certainly no web or programming expert, but I wish
there was a way to preserve and archive the site.

6. What comments, suggestions, or constructive recommendations would you like to
share for the new Syriacartoon website and its future development?
- A huge thank you to Raed Khalil for his time and effort in creating this platform to
bring us together. I am confident that his extensive experience in the field and his
broad network of contacts with artists and organizers will provide us with accurate
and up-to-date information.

1. بالنظر إلى الوراء على موقع "سوريا كارتون" السابق ومسيرته الممتدة على مدار 21 عامًا، كيف تصف تجربتك مع المنصة ومساهمتها في عملك كفنان؟

- كان موقع "سوريا كارتون" السابق مصدرًا رئيسيًا لي منذ عام 2008، ومن خلاله بدأتُ أتعلم فن الكاريكاتير، بما في ذلك المسابقات والمعارض، والفنانين بشكل عام.

2. ما هو تقييمك لدور رائد خليل، مدير الموقع وفنانه، في تطوير المنصة، وربط الفنانين، وتعزيز مجتمع كاريكاتير عالمي؟

- رائد خليل فنان محترف ذو قيمة فنية عالية. بصفتي رسام كاريكاتير مصري، أدرك تأثيره ودوره الرائد في المنطقة العربية. لقد رسّخ مكانتنا، كفنانين عرب، على طريق الكاريكاتير العالمي، وهو طريق كنا نجهله إلى حد كبير، خلال العقود الثلاثة الماضية.

3. بناءً على خبرتك، كيف تقيّم احترافية الموقع الإلكتروني في تواصله وتعاوناته وتعاملاته مع الفنانين؟

- أمنحه علامة كاملة بناءً على خبرتي. أعرف الكثير عن مساعدته للعديد من الفنانين والمسابقات، حيث قدّم الدعم الإعلامي والفني مجانًا وبتفانٍ كبير.

4. ما هي جوانب الموقع الإلكتروني السابق التي تعتبرها قيّمة وتستحق الحفظ؟

- مواكبة الأحداث بسرعة ملحوظة؛ في معظم الأحيان، كان موقع "الكاريكاتير السوري" 
الأول في نشر الأخبار والتغطية الفنية.

5. ما هي الجوانب، إن وجدت، التي تعتقد أنه كان من الممكن تحسينها؟

- الحفاظ على أرشيف للموقع. أنا بالتأكيد لست خبيرًا في الويب أو البرمجة، لكنني أتمنى 
لو كانت هناك طريقة لحفظ الموقع وأرشفته.
