This exhibition is a tribute to the work of 'Karry,' the most awarded Peruvian in international graphic humor competitions, whose track record today exceeds 150 awards. After setting a milestone in the national press since the 1980s with characters deeply rooted in local culture, this curation offers a look into his most universal side. It is titled 'Karrycaturas' in honor of his historic silent cartoons from the print press published in the newspaper OJO; spaces of creative freedom that served as a laboratory for the fifty masterpieces gathered here, which won global awards between 2004 and 2017. Through a strict chronology of 'universal gestures,' the exhibition dispenses with words to connect with the human condition, consolidating a legacy that transcends borders and inaugurates, from Callao, a long-term exhibition sequel for Peruvian culture.
